IRON
An iron-carbon alloy with a percentage of
carbon content over 2%.
Ductile (spheroidal)
iron was introduced during the 1950's and is obtained by the addition of a small
amount of magnesium to a previously desulfurized base iron.
In addition to the traditional qualities of grey iron such as:
- Castability
- Abrasion resistance
- Corrosion resistance
- Machinability
Ductile iron brings other fundamental characteristics such as :
- Impact resistance
- Tensile strength
- High elasticity
- High elongation

In accordance with the EN 545 / ISO 2531
standards. Thickness class = K09 or other class on request.
Socket with
push-in joint AJ type according to the UNI 9163 standard or TJ type according to
the DIN 28603 standard, paragraph 2.2.Internal lining of blast furnace cement
mortar according to the ISO 4179 standard. External coating : application of
metallic zinc 200 g/m2 (standard requirement 130 g/m2) covered with a synthetic
resin according to the ISO 8179-1 standard, 100 microns (standard requirement 70
microns).
